Robert Eugen Popa has directed 2 short films – co-written with former UCLA great friend and peer, Timothy M. Brice, that ended up winning 11 international awards, was screened at over 40 film festivals on 5 continents, including the «Chinese Theater: in Hollywood and were sold to «Shorts.TV» in Los Angeles, Amazon, and UK Film Channel.

Most of the CIFF-Romania Board members have a vast array of relevant filmmaking experience, such as Selection Director, Viorel Sergovici, with over 80 professional productions under his belt, making him one of the most prolific working Directors of Photography. We are also proud to have as a Directors Board member, Geo Dobre, who has acted in over 40 films, including the 2007 Cannes Film Festival Palme D’or award winner «4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days.»

Gabriel Fiorentino, the Italo-Argentinian Founder of «Arte Non-Stop Buenos Aires International Film Festival» (created in 2016) brings the experience of a consolidated international film festival and a flair for great events.

Through its thematic group of selected films and programs, CIFF-Romania seeks to discover, support, and inspire independent films and film professional artists from all over the world.

The festival also will serve to introduce Romanian and international audiences to these filmmakers’ visions and works.

CIFF-Romania is ideally designed to happen in full summer season, during the 3rd weekend of August, when tourists from all over the world, flock to the Black Sea Coast.

Live screens will take place over three days during the third week of August, 2020. Constanta is documented historically from 600BC when it was settled by Greek colonists from Milet (Asia Minor).

The Constanta ancient quarter has a very vibrant nightlife with abundant terraces, bars, and restaurants offering international cuisines  (Japanese, Lebanese, Turkish, Italian, etc.)

The modern resort of Mamaia, in the north of Constanta, features amazing white sand beaches, boisterous up-scale private clubs, and a large variety of international restaurants.
